VYPN is a VPN service with an integrated browser, operated by The VYPN AG, Switzerland, accessible at www.vypn.net and through our mobile and desktop apps. This policy covers both the website and the apps.
We follow a minimal-data approach: we collect only what we need to operate the service.
What we don't log
When you use the VPN, we do not log:
- Websites or services you visit, DNS queries, or any traffic content.
- The source IP you connect from, or destination IPs you reach.
- Connection timestamps, session duration, or per-user bandwidth.
Our VPN servers process traffic in real time without persistent identifiable storage.
What we collect
- Aggregated, anonymous counters — for example, the number of active connections per location — used for capacity planning.
- Web server logs — standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) retained for up to 30 days and used only to prevent abuse.
- Support emails — if you write to us, we keep your message as long as needed to help you.
We do not show ads, sell data, or share data with advertisers or analytics companies.
Browser data on your device
The integrated browser stores your tabs, history, bookmarks, cookies, and downloads locally on your device. We do not sync, upload, or copy this data to our servers. Clearing browser data in the app removes it.
When you cast media to a Chromecast or use third-party content addons inside the app, those services receive the data needed to operate (e.g. Google for Cast). Their own privacy policies apply.
Cookies
The website uses a small number of first-party cookies to remember your language and session. No third-party tracking cookies.
Children
Our service is not intended for users under 14, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. We follow Swiss data protection law (FADP) and the GDPR for European users.
